Running wild and living free……….
Is there a real such thing as running wild or living free ??? If there was, I think I might have captured it with this image. We were shooting in Simpsonville, KY at a horse farm just outside east Louisville. Finding several nice locations, I found this spot. The whole area was covered with some type of bean and ragweed. But there was a bare surface about 50 feet across…. just asking to be the “stage” for the shoot. There was a big challenge to this shot….. the sun ! It was about 3pm and the sun was up nice and high. What you don’t see is a 60in reflector and a speedlite removing the shadows from her face. Casey had brought her own set of flowers that we used in several shots with me calling out to her… “Just dance like a hippie !!” However a hippie dances, I’m not sure, but I think we might have gotten an award for that as well.
When shooting outside where there is no shade, you might find it difficult to capture the right image. I adjusted this picture to a black and white just for the “simple” I found in it. The color version is great too, but sometimes B&W tells a different story.
