Bringing in the new….
All of us, and I do mean all of us, go through so many things during our lifetime that leads us to different “chapters” in our lives. Much like a story, we all have something to say and something others can learn from. But I have found that a part of me has been missing for so many years, that I am just becoming aware of.
The most difficult part, in my opinion, is that we all fall short of letting go of past thoughts and struggles. Before my mom died, her and dad were married for 47 years. During that time, they never fought or raised their voices to each other if there was an indifference. My dad made it a “life rule” that everyday was a new day. What happened yesterday , he would not allow it to affect his decisions the next. In the last couple of years, and more so in the last few months, I am really learning this “new” way of living.
Each struggle, each sad thought carries us through to a river of emotions. The trouble is, we tend to focus on what bad things are happening around us instead of looking at the other half…. the “new”. You see the “new” is around us every moment of every day, but it goes unseen when our minds are cluttered with everyday noise. This noise is destroying dreams, building walls, and creating a separation from us with God. If everyday, even for just a few minutes, we were able to turn down the volume of this noise and listen to what is really being said to us. We are all in the right place…. we are right where we should be. But if you focus on the bad, you will not see the light that engulfs life.
I always like to put “out there” what is going on in my mind… after all, that is what blogging is mostly about anyway. So you can take what I say with a grain of salt… or you can plant it like a mustard seed. Feed the soil all good intentions and you will grow a rain forest.
Keeping life in frame.
