A Clean Slate Can is a Good Thing….
Recently I was talking with a good friend that had left behind a part of their life that was full of “demons,” and other hurting circumstances. Something this person did however is keep looking back to see if those circumstances were going to get better even though it caused so much harm.
I personally went through something similar but not as harsh. And talk to my good friend helped me realize I needed to practice what I preach…. that sometime even a psychiatrist needs to talk to a psychiatrist.
Take a look at what you have going on with your life that is holding you back. What is it? Who is it? What can you do to change it? There is NOTHING wrong with starting over. Some people look at their age or circumstance and just think “starting over” would be a waste of time. I remember Louise Hay once said “It doesn’t matter if you are at a door way of a mansion or at a homeless shelter…. the journey for Change is always available.”
The old saying “Change is a good thing,” is a just that… a good thing. In a previous blog I had said something that I wish to repeat. “Anger is the last emotion we feel just before Change occurs.” The thing to remember however is, you have to be open to change in order for it to happen. If you keep living life in a circle pattern, you will never see the light of day. This is the part of change that you need to step up to the plate and take claim ! Without this effort…. it’s like trying to start a car without any gas in the tank.
A clean slate…. in order to have one, you need to erase certain things, friends, circumstances. Now removing friends may sound drastic, but you have to ask yourself a very simple, yet important question. “Are my friends empowering me, or taking power from me ? ” Do you see the importance of this question? Keep this in mind … “You WILL become your surroundings.” So you need to really take a look at your surroundings and figure out if they are benefiting you or hurting you. When you start to erase your “board” , things will be a lot easier to see, because there is a lot less “clutter” to go through.
So in the end… happiness really is what you make it to be and not what someone else gives you. Do you want joy? Then seek out joy within you. This will open up so many avenues in your life and different ways of thinking and reacting to life’s circumstances.
Keeping things in focus !
