Stress WILL kill you….
How often do you find yourself in a “low state” of self-esteem or drive? More than once a week? Emotions are feelings we have that tell us two things. One, we are loving life or two, we need to correct something.
There is something going on in your life that just isn’t settling with you and your emotions will be the first thing to let you now. The best way to figure it out is ask yourself the very simple question, “What am I doing that is not making me happy?” Believe it or not, that simple question will open up a vast number of answers. The simplest answer is usually the correct one.
Stress is the major factor in your everyday life. (Read that again.) Stress will do more damage to your health then you could ever imagine. In fact, stress can kill you. (Read that again.) High blood pressure, high amounts of cortisol, imbalanced brain chemicals, and even heart complications are just a few things that stress will affect. Now let’s look at the nutrition side to it. If you are a heavy coffee or caffeine-holic, will increase your acidic levels in your body, which will in-turn invite disease like cancer. if your are a smoker or drinker…add LOT more points to bad health.
What to do? You need to find a balance to reduce stress levels. Recently major news shows like Nightline and 20/20 have talked about meditation. I’m not talking about sitting in some odd position and humming. I’m talking about turning your mind off for a while. I have found success in this by using Cds that offer guided meditation. It does all the work for you. All you have to do is find a quiet place, turn off the phone and TV for 20 minutes and put on the headset. I encourage you to look it up on google.
Another and more important way to reduce stress and improve over-all health is your diet. Are you eating enough of the ‘good’ foods? Most of us strike out on that one. You are what you eat is a very true statement. Too many calories, too much fat, too much sodium (salt), too much sugar? These are all MAJOR factors in your health. Your body has a very delicate PH level that it has to maintain in order for us to have life. The more bad food and substances will intake, the harder our bodies have to work. This equals stress.
The last thing…. change the way you think. HA! Sound simple? Think again… no pun. When we ‘think’ things are bad, change that idea. Life is only as simple as you make it in your mind. The image you hold about yourself in your mind is what your will ‘put out’ in the real world. Think bad thoughts, bad things will happen. Think good thoughts…. good things will happen. Please find the book by Dr. Wayne Dyer, “Change your thought, Change your life.” or Louise Hays book, “You can Heal your Life”
I wish you all the very best life has to offer!!
